I'm working on ordering myEgypt pics - you all know that process after a big trip: where was this taken? And why? I have, according to my camera a bit over 700 photos. I don't believe that number, but that's what iPhoto says needs to be transferred from iPad to laptop. Yikes.

Obviously, no one besides my critters will be expected to want to see a fraction of that, but I'm going to post something for friends somewhere, and I'll  put a link here for those who might be interested in browsing. Until then, a tiny sample.

Valley of the Queens (I think), west bank, Luxor

I can't quite - still - wrap my head around the stark beauty of the West Valley at Luxor. I could have just sat there for days - weeks? - taking it in. Same beauty at Amarna, with the startling contrast of the lush green of the fields in the background. As someone who grew up in the SoCal desert, this was a totally different kind of desert, a different kind of beauty. Loved it.
