New Glass!

So, when the weather is right, and the mood is right, and I can pull myself away from cooking glass, I'm messing with the stained glass. You can't see the colors clearly here (my favorite picture spot is behind a random piece of furniture for the season).
This is a remake of a pattern I call Laughing Girl. Gold, teal blue, dark green and purple, with a red mouth. Not intentionally Mardi Gras, but... those colors. This is version 3.
In a moment of whimsey, I named this Yellow Iris.
I'm quite pleased with it. I'll be making a whole series of these in different colors.

And this - another wild whimsical name - is Angles & Swirls (1): greens, yellows and a deep orange, with shells, abalone bits and bead.
I like the idea so much I'm going to be doing riffs on this all summer, most likely.

Then I went out front and found this:
First daff in the new front yard!

I didn't get any writing done this weekend, or even any 'real' reading.
I did get two apricot trees pruned, the leaves out of the front bed, and some other routine yard stuff done. But I must must must get my paper finished this week!!!!!

Beautiful glass work. Someday I'll try my hand at it.
